Pedro Bianchi Prata officially announces a new and strategic partnership with STRiX, a European manufacturer of next-generation electric motorcycles, in an ambitious project aimed at developing one of the most reliable and longest-range electric competition bikes on the market.
This collaboration marks the beginning of a new phase in the sporting and technological journey of rider Pedro Bianchi Prata, with a strong focus on the evolution of electric mobility in competition and a clear objective: to line up at the Dakar 2027 in the Mission 1000 category with the ambition to fight for victory with a 100% electric motorcycle.
A project focused on real competition development
Throughout 2026, Pedro Bianchi Prata will take part in four international rally events, as well as several Baja races within the Portuguese National Championship, the European Championship, and the World Cup. These competitions will serve as real-world testing grounds for the continuous development of the motorcycle.
The objective is clear: to test, improve, and validate solutions in extreme conditions, working closely with STRiX to enhance the reliability, autonomy, and overall performance of the electric platform.
The new motorcycle already presents a solid technical base with strong potential for rally raid evolution and will be the focus of an intensive testing and development program over the coming months.
One of the key pillars of this project will be the development of the energy system. For this, Pedro Bianchi Prata will rely on the technological support of EDMTECH, a company specialized in advanced battery solutions.
The joint work between STRiX, EDMTECH, and Pedro Bianchi Prata will focus on increasing energy capacity within the same physical battery space, as well as developing complementary solutions to significantly improve autonomy in racing conditions.
The project is also supported by MOEVE as the main sponsor, reinforcing a shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the future of electric mobility in motorsport.

Pedro Bianchi Prata, rider:
“This is a very important step for me. In STRiX, I found a strong technical base and a highly motivated team with a real desire to innovate. My objective has been clear from day one: to develop an electric motorcycle capable of competing at the highest level and to build a truly competitive project for Dakar 2027. This will be a path of constant evolution, race after race, always focused on reliability and autonomy.”

Urban Repa, STRiX eMotors CEO:
“Our partnership with Pedro Bianchi Prata represents a unique opportunity to test and develop our technology in real and extreme racing conditions. We believe that together we can take significant steps forward in the evolution of electric competition motorcycles, with a direct impact on the future of our products.”
Cláudia Soares Mendes, Marketing Director at MOEVE:
“At MOEVE, we believe in more sustainable mobility and in a responsible energy transition. Supporting a project like this, which combines innovation, sport, and technological development, is fully aligned with our vision for the future. We are proud to continue as the main sponsor of this initiative and to contribute to the development of more efficient and environmentally responsible solutions.”
Paulo Alves, CEO of EDMTECH:
“This project represents a major technological milestone for EDMTECH and a unique opportunity to push the boundaries of what is currently possible in high-performance battery engineering.
Our ambition is clear: to bring today’s most advanced chemistry and power electronics technologies to their absolute performance limits. The battery system being developed for the Dakar competition is engineered to achieve extremely high energy density while remaining lighter, more efficient, more robust, and inherently safer under the most demanding racing conditions.
This requires delivering exceptional discharge capability, advanced thermal management, structural resilience against vibration and impact, and intelligent real-time energy management — all within strict weight and volume constraints.
At a deeper level, this project reflects a broader strategic vision: to progressively narrow the gap between electric energy storage and the energy density of gasoline, which remains significantly higher today. By optimizing cell chemistry, pack architecture, electronics, and system integration as a unified platform, we are accelerating the path toward true performance parity between electric and combustion technologies.
Working alongside Pedro Bianchi Prata and STRiX allows us to validate these innovations in extreme real-world scenarios, transforming competition into a high-intensity laboratory for next-generation energy systems.”

The road to Dakar 2027
Throughout 2026, the main focus of the project will be the progressive development of the motorcycle in real competition environments, with each race serving as a step toward the ultimate goal: lining up at Dakar 2027 in the Mission 1000 electric category with a motorcycle capable of fighting for top positions.
This journey will also be documented in a multi-episode documentary series that will follow the entire development process, the technical challenges, the behind-the-scenes work, and the evolution of the motorcycle on the road to Dakar.
More than just a sporting project, this is a technological, environmental, and human mission aimed at demonstrating that the future of rally competition is also electric.
